Hire a Musician
The SSU Department of Music encourages freelance performance opportunities for students to develop entrepreneurial skills, create professional opportunities and build successful and sustainable careers in music.
If you would like to hire a student soloist or student ensemble, please submit a request at least six (6) weeks prior to your event. Due to the flexible nature of our student population, we cannot guarantee that all ensemble options listed below will be available. Please submit your request and we will get back to you promptly.
Students accept gigs as freelance performers, not as employees of Sonoma State University. The department does not set fees, and we encourage each artist/ensemble to negotiate fees as part of their career training. However, clients should be aware that the basic fee is $100 per musician for a 75-minute performance.
