Advising

The SSU Music Department is committed to assisting students toward graduation in a timely manner. For first-time freshmen this is typically four years. For transfer students this is typically two years.

SSU Music Faculty are dedicated to your success as an undergraduate student. You will be assigned a Faculty Advisor who is a specialist in your degree program. Your Faculty Advisor will assist you with the appropriate selection of courses each semester.

Your assigned Faculty Advisor will contact you to set up an advising appointment, typically one week prior to the fall and spring registration dates. However, it is up to you to be proactive, and to follow the recommendations of your Faculty Advisor. Students are ultimately responsible for knowing and meeting all graduation requirements.
