Concerto Competition

Please join us for the 11th annual Sonoma State University Concerto Competition! Nine students will perform excerpts from a variety of concertos, accompanied by Marilyn Thompson on piano. The students' performances will be evaluated by a panel of judges including Alexander Kahn (Director of Orchestral Activities, Sonoma State University), Philip Lenberg (Symphony Of the Redwoods and Mendocino College) and Richard Loheyde (Conductor Emeritus, Santa Rosa Youth Orchestra and Credo High School). The winner(s) of the competition will perform in concert with the Sonoma State Symphony Orchestra during the 2026-27 concert season.
