Playing music is always a game—a game of give and take, interaction, and communication. Some experimental composers have exploited this fact in their music by creating works that involve musical competition or cooperation, rules to be followed or broken, and varying levels of playfulness.
This concert will feature a compelling mixed chamber ensemble interpreting John Zorn’s exciting game piece, Cobra, along with other recently composed musical games.
