Dr. Brian Wilson elected to The College Music Society and was panelist for the Music Association of the California Community Colleges

Dr. Brian S. Wilson has been elected Vice President of The College Music Society Southwest Chapter.
The chapter includes over 900 CMS members in American Samoa, Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, New Mexico, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands, and Utah.
The College Music Society promotes music teaching and learning, musical creativity and expression, research and dialogue, and diversity and interdisciplinary interaction. A consortium of college, conservatory, university, and independent musicians and scholars interested in all disciplines of music, the Society provides leadership and serves as an agent of change by addressing concerns facing music in higher education.
 
Dr. Wilson, music, was also, recently, a panelist at the Plenary Session of the Music Association of the California Community Colleges (MACCC) conference on November 18th in San Diego.
 
Wilson is one of the intersegmental four member Music Faculty Discipline Review Group (FDRG), 2 from the CSU and 2 from the CC all of who were in attendance. 
The presentation and discussion centered on the periodic review of C-ID, Transfer Model Curriculum for Music which the group developed in 2012.  
In attendance were music chairs and faculty from the California Community Colleges statewide.
