Program: Saint-Saens, Concerto No. 1 for Cello in A Minor (Brynn Dally, soloist and 2018 Concerto Competition Winner)
Brahms, Symphony No. 2 in D Major
Please join the Sonoma State Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Alexander Kahn for an evening of Brahms and Saint-Saëns! Our program is entitled “Late Idyll” and features Johannes Brahms’ majestic and joyful Symphony No. 2, a captivating mixture of both Classical enthusiasm and Romantic drama. The Second Symphony is rounded out by Camille Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 2, which plays homage to the French Baroque period and the more immediate precursors of French and German Romanticism. The soloist for the Saint-Saens is Brynn Dally, who won the SSU 2018 Concerto Competition.
