Voice Requirements

Applicants should prepare to perform two selections in contrasting styles (approximately 10 minutes total) as follows: 

One selection, classical in style, in a foreign language (Italian, French, German, Spanish)

One selection in English in a classical, folk, or musical theater style 

The candidate should prepare a combination of materials that showcase their technical and lyrical abilities. 

Suggested Repertoire Sources

Italian art songs or arias from the 17th or 18th centuries

English or American art songs from any period, including folk song arrangements, (Dowland, Campion, Handel, Haydn, Purcell, Copland, Barber, Quilter)

Any selection from the American music theatre repertoire
