Gail Hernández Rosa Earns Audience Choice Recognition in Both the Bay Area and Los Angeles
Sonoma State University Department of Music faculty member Gail Hernández Rosa received recognition in two San Francisco Classical Voice 2025–2026 Audience Choice Awards, with honors connected to performances in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles regions.
Bay Area Recognition
Beneath a Tree — Baroque to Folk, co-founded and co-led by Hernández Rosa and Daniel Turkos, was named Favorite New Discovery. The ensemble brings together baroque music with Celtic, bluegrass, and other folk traditions.

Los Angeles Recognition
Hernández Rosa was also part of “A Spanish Salón” at the 46th Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar, which was named Favorite Early Music/Baroque Performance.
