Recital Requirements

B.M. Performance

• Junior Recital – a program comprising approximately 30 minutes of music, completed during the final semester of the junior year.  Register for MUS 397 (1 unit).
• Senior Recital – a program comprising approximately 60 minutes of music (and no more than 90), completed during the final semester of the senior year. Register for MUS 491 (2 units).

B.M. Music Education

• Senior Recital – a program comprising approximately 30 minutes of music, completed during the final semester of the senior year. May be a joint recital with another student. Register for MUS 491 (1 unit).

B.M. Jazz Studies

• Junior Recital – a program comprising approximately 30 minutes of music, completed during the final semester of the junior year. Register for MUS 397 (1 unit).
• Senior Project – a program/project comprising approximately 60 minutes of music (and no more than 90), completed during the final semester of the senior year. Register for MUS 490 (2 units).

2024-2025 Student Recital Event Form

For all Junior and Senior Recitals, and Senior Projects, please submit 6 weeks before your recital/project date.

Recital Hearing

In preparation for the recital performance, students are required to pass a recital hearing for a faculty panel at least 4 weeks prior to the scheduled recital date. A student who does not pass the hearing will need to remediate preparation before proceeding to the recital.
