On Sunday, January 26, 2020, members of Sonoma State University’s resident piano trio, the Navarro Trio will be joined by other string players in a performance of two glorious string quintets. The program will feature Franz Schubert’s supremely beautiful String Quintet in C Major, D956 and Georgy Catoire’s intensely expressive Quintet in C minor, Op. 16. Both works include the unusual scoring for 2 violins viola and 2 celli. The performers will be violinists, Victor Romasevich and Michael Jones; violist Stephen Levintow; and cellists, David Goldblatt and Jill Brindel. The concert will take place in Schroeder Hall in the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University and will begin at 2:00.
