This free event will take place Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the beautiful Green Music Center at Sonoma State University.

Workshop Overview
This workshop, led by world-renowned conducting pedagogue Markand Thakar , focuses on developing essential physical control and building musical understanding. Participants will work with the Vintner's Chamber Orchestra - Sonoma County’s professional string orchestra - on the following repertoire:

Sonoma County Middle School and High School Honor Bands
The Sonoma County Middle School and High School Honor Bands will take place January 27-28, 2023 at the Green Music Center. This event will feature 150 talented middle and high school musicians from Sonoma County schools. Students will be involved in two days of intensive rehearsals, culminating in a concert performance the evening of Saturday, January 28.

The NCBCDA Honor Groups event takes place February 2 – 4, 2023 at the Green Music Center. This event will feature 250 talented high school musicians from throughout Northern California. Students will be involved in three days of intensive rehearsals, culminating in a concert performance Saturday February 4th in Weill Hall.

Noma Winds: It's all the Rage
Noma Winds is the Sonoma State University Department of Music’s premier youth wind ensemble. The group offers Sonoma County students a rich cultural and educational support group for high school instrumentalists currently enrolled in a band program, are home-schooled or otherwise don’t have access to a band program at their school. All current and recently graduated high school wind, brass and percussionists are invited to join this free program.
