The Sonoma Invitational Choral Festival is a two-day event for high school and community college choirs. The festival will include performances by Sonoma State’s select choral ensemble, Sonovoce, as well as masterclasses with SSU Voice Faculty.

The SSU/Redwood Empire Jazz Festival is a 1-day competitive and educational event open to high school and middle school big bands and jazz combos. Each band gets to perform in our amazing Weill Hall. Trophies will be awarded to the top three bands of each class. Each band will receive taped and written comments, a 30 minute clinic from a renowned jazz educator, and a video of their performance. The Ninth Annual Sonoma State University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition will take place on Sunday, April 7, at 7:30pm in Schroeder Hall.

How to Apply to the Concerto Competition

In consultation with your private teacher, please fill out the Concerto Competition Application Form and submit it to Dr. Kahn via email by Friday, March 1, 2024, at 5pm. Participants should provide 1 copy of the score (piano reduction acceptable) to Dr. Kahn along with their application form, in the form of a pdf attachment or a link to an online score.
