Please come out to support the members of the Sonoma State Symphony Orchestra in our final concert of the 2021-22 concert season as we wrap up some unfinished business!

Our concert features Beethoven's epic Fifth Symphony, originally scheduled for an orchestra concert in April 2020 as part of a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth. Like so many other events, that concert was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is high time we fulfill our obligation to perform this important and powerful work.

The concert will open with Marejada by Puerto-Rican-born composer Angelica Negron. Commissioned by the Kronos Quartet, Marejada was written in 2020 at the height of social distancing and was one of the first pieces ever written designed to be rehearsed and performed over Zoom. This beautiful and moving work, inspired by the sights and sounds of the composer's homeland, is equally effective (if not more effective) in live performance and is intended to be a bit of musical catharsis for all we have endured over the past few years.

Schubert's Unfinished Symphony (No. 8) rounds out the program.

Health and Safety for the 2022 Spring Season

The following safety procedures are required for the 2022 Spring Season:

  • Masks are no longer required but are strongly recommended in indoor settings. They will no longer be required unless the artist requests it. We fully support and respect everyone who wishes to wear masks.
  • Per county and state guidelines, proof of vaccination and negative tests are no longer required to attend Green Music Center performances.
  • Please do not attend an event if you are experiencing any unexplained, COVID-related symptoms as listed here on the CDC website or if you have had recent close contact with an individual who is confirmed as having COVID-19—even if you are fully vaccinated.
