The Sonoma Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Andy Collinsworth, will present three performances this week on Wednesday March 11 and Thursday March 12 at 12:30 pm in Weill Hall.
These afternoon performances had been scheduled as part of the Music Department’s annual Sonoma Invitational Wind Band and Orchestra Festival. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of beautiful music for wind band. Concerts are FREE and open to the public. Parking costs $5 per vehicle.
Featured works on the program include:
Walter Piston’s Tunbridge Fair, a whimsical intermezzo inspired by an annual celebration held in the town of Tunbridge, Vermont. The Spellbook, a magical new work by award winning composer (and Santa Rosa native) Paul Dooley; Omar Thomas’ jazz-imbued rendering of the folk tune Shenandoah; and the wildly fantastic Wedding Dance by Jacques Press.
