Welcome to the "Lift Every Voice" concert, taking place on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:30pm. Our mission is to highlight the works of composers, poets, and lyricists from marginalized communities whose contributions to the music world have often been overlooked. By presenting these exceptional pieces, we hope to create a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural experiences they represent.

Join us for an evening of musical discovery as we showcase the vibrant and varied voices of the SSU vocal students. Drawing on their talents and passion, they will perform works in multiple languages and styles, weaving together a tapestry of song in Schroeder Hall. This concert is an opportunity to support these talented artists at the beginning of their singing careers.

The SSU Vocal Program is a thriving component of the SSU Music Department. Our voice students participate in a wide range of performance activities, including major choral-orchestral works, opera, chamber music, musical theatre, and solo recitals. Our program's curriculum includes theory, ear training, piano, and music history courses, ensuring that students develop into complete musicians. Additionally, our vocal repertory class is required for all Performance majors whose primary performing medium is the voice.

We invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening of music that celebrates diversity and excellence. Thank you for supporting the SSU Vocal Program and our commitment to highlighting voices that have been silenced for too long.
