Professor and Director of Choral Activities in the Department of Music, Dr. Jenny Bent, was selected by the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) Executive Board to receive this year's Pearson/Scott Foresman/Silver Burdett Choral Educator Award, "which honors excellence in choral education and performance" (CMEA Executives).
"We were impressed with your ongoing excellence as a music educator and your service to our profession in our state. In such unprecedented times such as these, you help bring light to the world through music education" (CMEA Executives).
Dr. Bent and other award winners will be honored at a special reception during the 2023 California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC).
