Orchestra Holds First Concerto Competition

Two Sonoma State University wind players have taken top prizes in the first annual SSU Concerto Competition, according to Director of Orchestral Activities Alexander Kahn. They are: Zachary Hall, trumpet (Arutiunian, Trumpet Concerto) and Megan Rice, saxophone (Glazunov, Saxophone Concerto). The competition held on March 22 saw eight competitors who performed before a panel of three. Hall and Rice will perform with the orchestra on September 30 in Weill Hall.
