The Sonoma State University Symphonic Chorus and Chamber Singers will honor the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death with settings of his texts on April 29 at 7:30 pm in Schroeder Hall. 

Acclaimed lyric soprano Rhoslyn Jones will sing Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the Sonoma State University Symphony Orchestra on May 1 at 7:30 pm in Weill Hall.

Two Sonoma State University wind players have taken top prizes in the first annual SSU Concerto Competition, according to Director of Orchestral Activities Alexander Kahn.

Sonoma State University trumpet instructor Dave Len Scott dons his most comfortable shoes when he plays John Coltrane's iconic "Giant Steps" with pianist Ken Cook in Schroeder Hall at Sonoma State's Green Music Center Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Upcoming music department events for spring include a joint concert with SSU jazz ensembles and acclaimed saxophonist Michael Blake, Cuban vocalist and bandleader Alberto Faya, and a production of "Into the Woods."

Sonoma State University’s Department of Music at the Green Music Center welcomes the community to its fall season of more than 30 performances in the flagship Weill Hall and newly opened Schroeder Recital Hall.

The Trio Ariadne will give their debut performance as Artists in Residence at Sonoma State University’s Weill Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Oct.
